Industrial Lighting

I just love industrial style lighting and as part of our home renovation I've been searching high and low for the perfect style. Don't you just love these above? I've bought the bottom right hand image for our bedroom, aren't they lovely? We've also sourced some amazing old shipping lights for our decking outside. The above lights come from the following stores, but Ebay is also a great place to find such a fantastic lighting. Happy sourcing!

Julius Vita Drommer

Gosh...what a find! In my usual perusal of something a little bit different, I came across this beautiful shop called Julius Vita Drommer and I just had to share it with you. I absolutely love everything in her store...if only I could just wander in and browse around. Sigh. But all is not lost, you can buy online. Wohoooo!

Baileys Home and Garden

If you're in search of rustic, vintage or plain and simple interiors then Baileys Home and Garden are amazing. And if you're ever near their store, then it's so worth a visit. I was blown away, and had bubbles of excitement as I walked around the beautiful barns. So inspiring! Even better, they have a lovely little cafe serving the most delicious cake and tea. Yum! x

Paul Massey's Cornish Home

Wow, Paul has done it again! He's created a beautiful rustic beach house, situated in one of the sweetest Cornish fishing towns in the UK. I love how he collects industrial lighting and reclaimed furniture, yet makes them feel so luxurious at the same time. His interior style inspires me so much, I'm sure I'll be stealing a few of his ideas when decorating our holiday home here in North Cornwall. I can't wait to see what he does next! x
Images via Light Locations. Paul Massey's house tour can also be seen in June's edition of Living Etc. Also...a little bird has just told me that you book this property for your next holiday down in Cornwall. Take a peek at Unique Home Stays for availability.

Father Rabbit

I recently came across the website Father Rabbit in my search of interiors for our new holiday cottage. I just love it!!! I absolutely adore the simplicity of all the products and how they all compliment each other so well. I'll definitely be treating myself to some rustic kitchen utensils and that powder blue bowl. How gorgeous? You must take a peek at their blog too. If you love white houses as much as me, then you'll be blown away. Enjoy! x

I'm missing Paper Source!

One thing that I absolutely loved about being in the U.S was the access to the amazing store Paper Source. Oh my...I could spend just hours in here, in fact I could live here. The beautiful cards, papers, books and decoration workshops made me spin! I was full of excitement and beaming from ear to ear. I couldn't possibly leave without treating myself to the wonderful book Handmade Weddings and also a Paper Source personalised stamp  which we will use for all our wedding stationary. You can buy online, and I believe they ship all over the world but it doesn't even compare to the excitement of being in store. I'm can't wait for the day they launch a London store, that would be amazing!

A Tour of California...

So, I've decided. It's great to travel. Not only do I feel like I'm a world away from home, but I also feel so inspired by this very different culture around me. In just a short time I feel different in a way I can't explain. All I know (and I must admit, I have very little travelling experience in comparison to most) is that I not only appreciate and admire this country for what it is, but I also get a sense of appreciation for our home. And that's the best bit. It's amazing to go away, but its even better to realise why you love the country you are from.

We're having an amazing time, and my fiancé and I are set to hit San Francisco tomorrow for the first time. I'm already beside myself with excitement. I can't wait to witness those beautiful Victorian houses, and the rows on rows of food markets. But I also know, in 5 nights time we'll be home, in our own bed with our very much missed dog by our side. It's good to miss home once in a while. Wouldn't you agree?

So it's been quite a year...

As you may know (or maybe not if you've not visited my blog before...) but I've had a rather hectic year. In January I embarked on setting up my new company in North Cornwall, but little did I know of the events that were about to take place. First off, my boyfriend (at the time) and I bought our new home in March, with huge dreams and plans on how we were going to renovate it. Secondly, (and little to my knowledge) my boyfriend then proposed at the end if March which totally blew my mind and I ever since I've been acting like a one of those girls who look sickingly happy, boring for most people I know! So on top of wedding planning and renovating a house I was then asked  to 'up my days' working at a design studio in Falmouth. All in all...it's quite obvious why I've had such little time to get my business going.

So, after much deliberation (and a little persuasive nudge from my fiance who obviously knows me better than I know myself) I have decided to ditch my business plans for another year. I'm rather gutted, but hey. It seems so silly to constantly feel guilty over something that doesn't even really exist. It's just best that it goes on hold for now until next year and we can then see where I am after our wedding.

But in the meantime, you maybe pleased to know that Daisypotter will be back up and running!! Yey! And if I'm to be totally honest I've missed it. I absolutely love my blog and was so sad to see it go, so I'm actually really happy to be back. I'll be updating my blog with our recent house renovation developments and as ever, I'll be featuring all those amazingly stylish people I find around the globe that totally inspire me.

I hope that everyone I deserted for a short while will be back to follow me again and I really look forward to hearing your thoughts on my posts. Also, if there are any designers or fellow bloggers out there that would like to feature on my blog then please don't hesitate to get in touch. I'd love to hear
from you.

Best Wishes, Jo x

Toast - House & Home 2012

As ever, I was searching the net last night to find some beautiful accessories to compliment our new home - and I must say, the Toast collection for Spring/ Summer 2012 is to die for. I love their natural, yet colourful approach, isn't it lovely? I'm tempted to buy a couple of silver trunks, and stack them to make the perfect side table, what do you think? I'm also going to treat myself to their coastal blue striped mugs, I love them! Take a peek as I'm sure you'll love the whole collection. Enjoy!

Home Inspiration from Quirky Interiors

Hi! Yet again, so sorry for the lack of posts lately. Things have been rather hectic! As you may know, I'm in the middle of a build project and I have full responsibility of the interior. Amazing! As much as I'm over the moon - it's still a little daunting. When it's your own home, it's so hard to make that final decision on what to buy. But having come across the website Quirky Interiors, it's confirmed my thoughts on how to have our kitchen. As I'm sure you're aware, kitchens are probably one of the most expensive ways to blow your budget, so I've decided to go ahead with a homemade 'rough luxe' look. We'll be clambering around for old pieces of wood and hopefully it'll look amazing, we'll have to wait and see. In the meantime, take a peek around this store as you'll love it I'm sure. Enjoy! x

Ikea Family Live

Hi everyone, I hope you're all having a lovely weekend? I received some very good news this week, so I'm very very excited! My boyfriend and I have managed to strike a deal on a beautiful home in North Cornwall, and we get to move in next month! The best bit? It's a total blank canvas that requires a lot of work, so I'm frantically searching for inspiration on how I'd like to it look and feel. This home on Ikea Family Live is gorgeous! If there's anyway we could make it look like this then I'd be over the moon. Hopefully...I'll be sharing with you all my new project, as it might be quite interesting to see it develop over the next year. I hope you all have a great weekend and I'll be in touch soon. x
